That’s me in the middle—Tami—with my handsome husband Dave beside me. Many years ago, I had a kind of, sort of, maybe slightly successful mommy blog when our girls were little (they’re the ones in the white and green). Life got busy, the blog got dusty, and now, about 18 years and a few more wrinkles later… here we are, starting fresh.
Our oldest daughter, Ari, is now married to Graham (he’s the tall guy on the right). Our youngest, Alex, just entered her twenties and keeps us laughing, grounded, and occasionally confused by Gen Z slang. Dave and I? We’re figuring out this new chapter and wondering how the heck time flew by so fast.
The name The DayLee Hawt Spot comes from all of our last names—past and present. I originally created this blog to follow Ari and Graham’s travels as they set out to explore the world. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized: this isn’t just their story. It’s our story.
So what’s this blog about?
It’s about us.
The family.
The humor.
The feistiness.
The passions, the quirks, the messy and the magical.
The victories and the not-so-victories.
I’ve always been a closet writer. If I could pick a dream job, it’d be writing—or maybe rock stardom (hey, a girl can dream). I may not be rich or famous, but this space is where I can let my creative side play again—and maybe, just maybe, connect with a few kindred spirits along the way.
